Introducing Invisalign First and Invisalign Stickables, The Newest Accessory to Your Child’s Smile

If you’re a parent of a 6-9 year old, you’re going to want to know about Stickables. They’re the newest release by Invisalign – the leading manufacturer of clear orthodontic aligners – and your kiddo is going to be interested.

While many parents come to our practice with teens, we (and the American Association of Orthodontics) actually advocate having your child seen by age 7. Why? At this early age, a trained orthodontic eye can spot development and, in certain cases, begin treatment that will ease and shorten your child’s overall need for orthodontic work. As a parent, we know it’s hard to imagine your little one in braces at such an early age. That’s why we’re excited to tell you that Invisalign is now an option for our younger patients in need of Phase 1 treatment called Invisalign First!

Children ages 6-10 can now be treated by Invisalign First for issues typically solved via arch expanders, or partial metal braces. The new Invisalign First clear aligners are designed specifically to address a broad range of younger patients’ problems. Early treatment can prevent more severe problems or alignment issues that could get worse later on, while providing a foundation for permanent teeth to begin to erupt.

Invisalign First uses the same comfortable clear aligner and scanning technology as adult and teen Invisalign treatment. At the same time, Invisalign First clear aligners expand on key innovations and have been specifically designed for growing patients with new and unique features and functionality. The Invisalign First aligners were created exclusively for younger patients with shorter tooth crowns and what the company calls its Eruption Compensation feature that makes it possible to treat erupting or changing dentition. In other words, Invisalign First can accommodate baby teeth falling out and permanent tooth growing in all while adjusting your child’s teeth according to the plan Dr. Azar-Mehr has laid out.

But, getting back to the point: What are Stickables??? Stickables are fun stickers that are specifically designed to decorate your child’s Invisalign aligners. They’re non-toxic, totally safe, and super fun! Below are some of the reasons Dr. Azar-Mehr loves them too:

    • Our youngest patients can have fun customizing their aligners to show off their treatment and new smile
    • Stickables give kids a sense of control and autonomy in their treatment
    • They allow you, the parent, to embrace your kid’s unique style – strengthening your relationship during the difficult tween years and increasing their self-confidence.
    • Harder to lose – not quite invisible means these aligners are less likely to get tossed in a napkin at the lunch table and subsequently trashed.
      •  Translation for grown-ups: less money spent on replacement aligners
    • Bottom line: Invisalign stickables makes wearing aligners fun!

Dr. Arleen Azar-Mehr is always working to create a fun environment where we build real relationships with our patients and their families. Your child’s self confidence along with a healthy smile are of utmost importance – it’s one of the reasons we love Stickables.

If your child is approaching their 7th birthday (or if it’s already passed) and their smile is begging for some stickables style – contact our practice and ask about Invisalign First and Invisalign Stickables. We offer complimentary virtual appointments and will build a customized treatment plan based on your child’s needs.

We can’t wait to meet you!

Invisalign & DM – The Perfect Pair for Orthodontics During Social Distancing

Invisalign & DM – The Perfect Pair for Orthodontics During Social Distancing

We live in strange times – gestures once taken for granted – handshakes, hugs, fist bumps – are now taboo; even our smiles are often hidden behind masks. But that doesn’t mean no one is seeing your smile. COVID-19 has meant socially distancing ourselves but it has also meant a boom in social media. Humans are social creatures and we’ve found new and creative ways to connect even while apart.

More selfies, virtual school, virtual meetings, and video chats are happening than ever before, which means we are even more up close and personal with our smiles. We all want to feel confident on screen – teens and adults alike. Self confidence is a huge factor in teen development and Invisalign has been found to increase teen confidence both during treatment and once they’ve achieved the smile they always wanted.

There is no reason to wait on getting the smile of your dreams for you or your child; Dr. Arleen Azar-Mehr has combined the technology of Invisalign and Dental Monitoring, to make sure you are as safe as possible while achieving that smile.

Why is Invisalign a great choice right now?

While we are all out and about again, fears are still running high. We still need to be careful about what we touch, where we spend our time, and with whom. Invisalign allows for a more socially distanced approach to orthodontics, while still making sure you get the expertise of a trained and specialized orthodontist like Dr. Arleen Azar-Mehr. To get started, we use a 3D scanner to take images of your teeth and bone structure in order to map out a customized treatment plan and to build custom aligners that will help straighten your smile – invisibly. That means less time in your (or your child’s) mouth to get started.

Once your treatment plan is put in place, you will receive clear aligners to wear 22 hours a day – no skimping or treatment will take longer! We will want to see you for appointments, just like with braces, but with Invisalign we can space those appointments further out! And, with our special Dental Monitoring technology, we can even schedule virtual appointments via your SmartPhone! If we don’t see anything unexpected, we will give you instructions to move forward – no need to come into the office. Socially distant – check!

In order to further minimize your time at our practice – gosh we miss seeing our patients all the time but we know it’s safer – we have implemented curbside pick up for aligners. During your treatment, you will receive a few batches of clear Invisalign aligners at a time. We then gauge your progress at appointments (in person or virtual) and move to the next set – if all is going well, you can just pick them up curbside!

While we’d rather see each and every one of our patients all the time, we are doing our part to flatten the curve and keep everyone healthy and safe. Invisalign, paired with virtual appointments on your smartphone via Dental Monitoring, allows us to help you attain the smile of your dreams in the safest way possible – it’s the clear choice. Not just any practice can do this, Dr. Azar-Mehr and her team have the expertise with both orthodontics and technology to help you get that smile. Our fun and friendly office may look a bit different than it used to, but we’re still cooking up ways to make you feel the love while you’re here!

There is so much that we’re depriving ourselves of these days, don’t let the smile of your dreams be one of those things. We have flexible financing and low down payments.

Call us today to schedule a free consultation – we can start virtually or in person – your choice!
