Here’s what the full “braces glow-up” journey looks like at our office:
Step 1: Welcome & Office Tour
First things first, when you walk in, you’ll feel the difference. Our office is modern, warm, and teen-friendly. During your first visit, we’ll take you on a quick tour so you and your teen can get comfortable with the space. It’s important to us that both parents and kids feel confident and at ease before starting treatment.
Step 2: The Initial Consultation
Next comes the initial consultation with Dr. Mehr. This is a relaxed, no-pressure appointment where we:
- Take digital photos and a panoramic X-ray
- Perform a thorough orthodontic exam
- Talk through any concerns you or your teen may have
- Go over customized treatment options and timelines
- Review insurance benefits and flexible payment plans
We’ll make sure you have all the information, support, and flexibility you need to move forward when the time feels right.
Step 3: Getting Braces On
Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll schedule the bonding appointment. This is the big day! Your teen officially begins their smile transformation!
Getting braces on is a smooth and painless process. We’ll walk them through each step, make sure they know how to care for their new hardware, and send them home with a starter kit filled with essentials (and a few fun surprises, too).
Step 4: Regular Check-Ins
Throughout treatment, we’ll see your teen for regular visits to check progress, make adjustments, and answer any questions. These quick appointments help ensure everything stays on track, and they give us a chance to celebrate milestones along the way.

Step 5: Braces Off & The Big Reveal
When the big day arrives to take the braces off, it’s a celebration! We’ll carefully remove the brackets, polish everything up, and reveal your teen’s brand-new smile. It’s one of our favorite moments, and we make sure your teen feels proud of what they’ve accomplished.
We’ll also fit them for retainers and share instructions to help them keep their smile looking amazing for life.
